Log Truck Crashes Into Decatur, GA, Self-Storage Facility

A tractor-trailer loaded with lumber crashed into a building at SecurCare Self Storage in Decatur, Georgia, on Tuesday afternoon. The driver was outside the vehicle at 3:33 p.m. when it rolled off the road and barreled into the property at 4141 Snapfinger Woods Drive. No one was injured, according to sources.

The driver ran to catch the rig but was unable to stop it. After the crash, the vehicle rolled onto its side, and some of its cargo spilled into the facility’s drive aisle. Damage occurred to the property’s perimeter fence, several self-storage units and a nearby light pole. Crews worked through the evening to remove the tractor-trailer and the lumber.

The driver was cited for the accident, a source reported.
