Self-Storage Operator Leon Holding Co. Expands Into CO, OK and WY

Leon Holding Co., which develops and operates self-storage facilities in Montana, is expanding its footprint into Colorado, Oklahoma and Wyoming. Though the company was launched just a year ago, owner Nathan Garber plans to build hundreds of storage units over the next six years, according to the source. It’ll keep its headquarters in Kalispell, Montana, but open new offices and hire local staff as it grows.

With 35 years of construction experience, Garber became familiar with self-storage after using it for his construction business. After seeing its popularity, he decided to build his own facilities. Leon develops and manages its own sites.

Garber attributed the growing presence of self-storage in Montana’s Flathead Valley to the great migration of newcomers to the area. “It’s due largely to the massive influx of people,” he said. Part of the reason for his interest in Oklahoma came from a desire to keep units from proliferating too much in Montana. Garber wants the company’s growth to happen in the most conscientious way possible, he told the source.
