Bluebird Self Storage Opens New Facility in Londonderry, NH

Update 3/19/19 – Bluebird has opened its self-storage facility off Perkins Road. The $5 million project wound up slightly larger than first reported, comprising 106,000 square feet in 658 units. It includes $200,000 in exterior brickwork requested by Londonderry’s heritage commission. The company will host a grand-opening ceremony for the site later this spring, according to the source.

Bluebird’s Epping project is scheduled to open in May. The company also recently closed on a development property in Scarborough, Maine.

6/5/18 – Bluebird Self Storage, which operates four facilities in New Hampshire, is building a new location in Londonderry, N.H. Slated to open in January, the three-story project was approved by the planning board last fall, according to town planner Colleen Mailloux.

The property is off Perkins Road, behind the Twins Smoke Shop and near Interstate 93. Once complete, it’ll comprise 103,000 square feet of storage space in 650 climate-controlled units.

Bluebird also has developments underway in Epping and Greenland, N.H., which is a conversion project. The single-story warehouse will be transformed into a two-story facility containing 136,000 square feet of storage space. Scheduled to open August, it’ll also become the company’s headquarters. The Epping project, opening in February, will comprise three stories with 76,000 square feet of space, according to Bill Goodison, managing director.

The company hopes to open two to three new properties annually, depending on land availability, Goodison said. Its currently evaluating sites in Concord and Nashua, N.H.

Bluebird operates facilities in Bedford, Hooksett, Manchester and Rochester, N.H. The sites are owned by Bluebird Storage LLC, which also owns the Greenland Self Storage brand.
