Woman Locked in Self-Storage Unit by Domestic-Violence Suspect

A woman who was illegally living inside a Fort Worth, Texas, self-storage unit was rescued by police last week after a domestic-violence suspect locked her in the space. Police were called to Pollard Self Storage at 2309 Pollard St. at 9:15 p.m. on April 20, according to the source.

It was later learned that the woman had previously been living at a residence with the suspect, who had physically assaulted her. In her quest to flee the abusive relationship, she began staying at the storage facility. The suspect found her there, closed the unit door and secured it.

The victim was treated at the scene and released. The incident is under investigation and no arrests have been made. Reports for assault with bodily injury and unlawful restraint have been filed, the source reported.
