Woman Fakes Armed Robbery at Space Shop Self Storage in North Charleston, SC

A 27-year-old woman was arrested Monday after falsely reporting an armed robbery that was supposed to have taken place at Space Shop Self Storage in North Charleston, S.C. It’s unclear from sources if Hilary Kaye Daniels was an employee of the business at 3781 Ashley Phosphate Road, a tenant or a guest.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office received a call from an unidentified male about the incident around 1 p.m. During the two-hour investigation, officers determined the “victim” had herself taken the money and hid it.

“The money was recovered at the scene and the female victim/suspect has been arrested,” authorities told the source.

Daniels was taken to Dorchester County Detention Center. A bond hearing was scheduled for April 9.

Space Shop operates 13 facilities in Georgia, where it is headquartered, and the Carolinas.
