Undercover Operation Nabs Blowing Rock, NC, Self-Storage Thief

An undercover police operation flushed out a thief who broke into several units last month at Blowing Rock Self Storage in Blowing Rock, N.C. The burglaries at 405 Ransom St. occurred between Oct. 23 and 25, according to the source.

Locks were reportedly cut off several storage units and contents were taken, including a set of custom wheels. Officers from the Blowing Rock and Lenoir Police Departments conducted the Oct. 29 covert maneuver that resulted in the arrest of Larry Conley Fenner, 28, of Lenoir, N.C. Police also recovered the stolen items.

Fenner has been charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen property, with additional charges pending. He’s being held at Caldwell County Jail with a $5,000 secured bond.

Opened in 2001, Blowing Rock Self Storage is family-owned and -operated. It offers 150 drive-up units.
