Police Seek Suspect in Wilmington, DE, Self-Storage Robbery

Police are seeking a man who allegedly pointed a gun at an employee of Sentinel Self Storage in Wilmington, Delaware, during a Jan. 14 robbery. The employee wasn’t injured in the incident, according to sources.

The man entered the business office at 333 E. Lea Blvd. at 5:40 p.m. and demanded money from the safe while brandishing a handgun. The storage operator handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and then the man fled on foot.

The suspect is described as Black, 20 to 35 years old, and about 6 feet tall. He was wearing all black clothing and a face mask. No surveillance photos are available.

Family-owned and -operated for 25 years, Sentinel Self Storage owns 21 facilities in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It’s a part of Eastern States Group, a network of businesses that specialize in the development and leasing of office and retail space.
