Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday outside an Everett, Washington, self-storage facility. Officers were called to The Storehouse Mini Storage at 3816 Smith Ave. at 6:20 a.m., according to sources.
When police arrived, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save his life, he did not survive.
The incident occurred out of view from the main road, and the suspect fled the area, a source reported. No other details have been released.
The self-storage owner told a source that he routinely has problems with customers renting units to illegally live inside of them. He also believes that multiple derelict vehicles in the area and existing homeless populations attract bad actors, he said.
