Canadian Man Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison for Self-Storage Thefts in Niagara Falls, Ontario

A man convicted of breaking into units at a Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, self-storage facility was sentenced on Wednesday to one year in prison. The thefts occurred on Oakwood Drive over a three-month period that began in late 2021, according to the source.

Anthony Edwards, 38, pleaded guilty to nine charges, including multiple counts of breaking and entering and theft. He was also convicted on one count of trafficking the proceeds of the crime. Among the stolen items were sports cards and other collectibles valued at $10,000 and two 3D printers. He sold one of the printers online for $150, the source reported.

The arrest came in March after police served a search warrant at a home near Bonnie Street Waters Avenue. They recovered some of the items taken from the storage units as well as crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Edwards also pleaded guilty to stealing a vehicle and attempting to steal another from a gated car dealership. When released from prison, he’ll serve three years of probation.
