Police arrested a murder suspect on Thursday at a Longmont, Colo., self-storage facility. Isaiah Ismael Rios, 29, was found hiding inside a unit at East Point Mini Storage after having fled the scene of a home burglary where an 80-year-old man was found dead. The suspect was caught after someone reported a suspicious vehicle at the storage property at 12121 Sugar Mill Road. He was taken into custody without incident at 9:30 p.m., according to sources.
Police responded to the home in the 2200 block of Jewel Street just after 6 p.m. The woman who lives there called and said she had just arrived home and couldn’t find her husband, though she saw blood on the carpet. Police conducted a search of the home and discovered the man’s body. His name and cause of death haven’t been released.
Rios faces charges of auto theft, burglary and murder. He also faces charges in two additional burglaries, a source reported.
East Point Mini has been open since 1978, according to its website.
