Police have arrested two men in connection with at least 19 burglaries that occurred this year at self-storage facilities in Brunswick, Georgia. Detectives found evidence that links the duo to every theft, according to a source.

David Edward Wood, 50, was arrested on March 3. He faces 24 counts of second-degree burglary. Kyle Arthur Ahnberg, 51, was apprehended on March 11 and charged with 19 counts of second-degree burglary. Both are in custody at the Glynn County Detention Center.

The suspects were identified after a patrol officer recognized a vehicle outside a residence at 7377 Blythe Island Drive. It was the same car caught by surveillance video on March 3 during a burglary at American Mini Storage. Police took Wood into custody that day, but didn’t charge Ahnberg until later, even though both men were found at the same home. Several items that were believed to be stolen were also found at the residence.

After they arrested Wood, police discovered that he was a person of interest in other area burglaries. During questioning, he allegedly confessed to theft of multiple self-storage units. The investigation is ongoing and more charges could be added, a source reported.

Nearly 30 burglaries have been reported at self-storage facilities in Glynn County, Georgia, in 2022. Thefts have occurred at Altama Storage, 60 Scranton Connector; Coastal Mini-Storage, 3818 Community Road; and Southport Self-Storage, 3435 U.S. Highway 17. Burglars entered the units by cutting the locks, a source reported.
