U-Haul Converts Industrial Complex to Self-Storage in Swedesboro, NJ

Phoenix-based U-Haul International Inc., which operates more than 1,300 self-storage locations across North America, is converting an existing property in Swedesboro, N.J., to self-storage. The site at 510 Heron Drive is in the Pureland Industrial Complex, a 3,000-acre industrial park in Logan Township.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Swedesboro currently offers moving and packing supplies, truck and trailer rentals, and U-Box portable-storage containers. Renovations are underway to add 300 interior storage units by the end of the year. The site will include climate control and state-of-the-art security features, according to a press release.

"I am excited that we finally have a company-owned location in the Logan Township and Swedesboro area,” said Paul Kelly, president of the U-Haul Co. of Southern New Jersey. "This is one of the fastest-growing communities in New Jersey, and we plan on helping the community move into the future.”

Established in 1945, U-Haul owns more than 44 million square feet of storage space. The company’s corporate sustainability initiatives, which support infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint, has led to dozens of conversion projects in recent years.
