Stor-All Expands Self-Storage Facility in Ranchos Community of Gardnerville, NV

Stor-All, which operates seven self-storage facilities in Nevada, recently expanded one if its two Gardnerville, Nev., properties, adding an 850-square-foot management office, a manager’s residence and parking for vehicle storage. The expansion at 808 Short Court was spurred by rapid growth in the Ranchos community, according to the company website. Gardnerville Ranchos is Stor-All’s largest facility, and the only storage facility in the valley’s largest neighborhood.

Opened in 1985 as the company’s fourth storage asset, the property features more than 850 climate-controlled units that are also “dust-resistant,” according to the company. Property amenities include business services, U-Haul truck rentals, and the sale of packing and moving supplies.

Stor-All purchased land previously used by Wilson Construction to add its vehicle-storage area, which features wide drive aisles and a variety of parking-space sizes to accommodate vehicles up to 50 feet long, the source reported. The business will offer amenities including the sale of boat/RV supplies, heightened security keypads and an RV-dump station. A vehicle-wash station could be added in the future, facility owner Todd Whear told the source. A courtyard is also being constructed.

Company growth has been fueled by the desire to fill a need, Whear said. “Over time, we just kept trying to add things that people want and need. We just looked at it as sticking to what we know best and finding ways to expand within those means.”

The family-owned and -operated business was founded nearly 45 years ago by Whear’s father, Bob Whear. “When dad first built that long row of garages side by side, everyone basically looked at him and said, ‘What the heck are you doing?’ Never in a million years would we have thought there would be television shows about self-storage—and that they would be popular,” Todd Whear told the source.

Stor-All operates two facilities in Gardnerville and has properties in Dayton, Elko, Fallon, Reno and Winnemucca, Nev.
