Ramser Development Co., owner of Boat Storage Depot, RV Storage Depot and other commercial real estate properties, plans to build a new self-storage facility in Fountain Valley, Calif. The property at 16842 Harbor Blvd. is the former site of a used-car dealership and boat/RV-storage yard. The two-building project will comprise 97,000 square feet of storage space in 700 units. Construction will begin later this year, with the property opening in fall 2017.

Both of the buildings will offer drive-up storage. One will also be a three-level structure with elevator access to additional units. The storage facility will be “technologically advanced" with automated access, climate control and online reservations, according to Scott Ramser, president.

"Fountain Valley has great neighborhoods and a great population that has demand for a clean, new self-storage facility of this type," Ramser said.

Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Tustin, Calif., Ramser Development owns six self-storage facilities. Scott Ramser is the board secretary for StoreLocal, a co-op of private self-storage operators in Canada and the United States. He’s developed more than 1 million square feet of boat and RV storage.
