Metro Storage to Develop New Self-Storage Facility in St. Charles, IL

Metro Storage LLC, which operates more than 100 self-storage properties in 12 states, has purchased a parcel of land in St. Charles, Ill., on which it plans to build a new Metro Self Storage facility. Slated to open in November, the property will be the company’s 19th in the Chicago area.

The three-story facility at 2623 Lincoln Highway will comprise 101,232 gross square feet and 72,450 rentable square feet of climate-controlled storage space. Property features will include double-bay covered loading and unloading areas, state-of-the-art security components, and a large, modern retail office, according to a company press release.

“The new store will have great visibility along a major east-west thoroughfare, and is in a strong demographic market close to residential areas and major retailers,” said CEO Blair Nagel.

Headquartered in Lake Forest, Ill., Metro Storage is a privately owned, fully integrated real estate operating company specializing in the acquisition, development and management of self-storage facilities nationwide. Its facilities comprise more than 6.7 million square feet of storage space.
