Delaware Beach Storage Center (DBSC), a new self-storage facility in Lewes, Del., celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 16. The event was attended by owners Blair and Timarie Thompson as well as family members and friends. Others in attendance included government and community officials, local business owners, and vendors connected to the development.
DBSC also held an open house, June 18-19, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., that included facility tours, giveaways and raffles. A Father’s Day cookout took place on June 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The three-story facility at 32244 Nassau Road comprises 106,000 square feet of storage space in 680 climate-controlled and drive-up units. It also offers records storage as well as gated storage for boats and RVs. Property features include 24-hour access, individual unit alarms, motion-sensor lighting, video cameras, and a retail office that sells moving and packing supplies.
Tenant amenities include complimentary coffee, water and WiFi. New customers have the option to use the facility’s moving truck for free. Access to the property is through a security-pass code or a smartphone app, according to a company press release.
“Tenants are assured a top-notch storage and service experience in the new facility. We have tried to anticipate every need of our tenants and will go above and beyond when it comes to customer service,” Timarie Thompson said.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide Sussex County residents and visitors with a top-of-the-line storage option. In addition to providing a new, modern storage space for our growing population, our new location will offer residents and visitors a safe and convenient option to store their contents—short or long term,” Blair Thompson added.
“Blair and Timarie saw a need in our community for quality, climate-controlled storage, and had the vision to provide a solution,” said state Sen. Ernesto Lopez. “With remarkable commitment and dedication, they undertook this large project; and today we celebrate the opening of Delaware Beach Storage Center as well as the local tradespeople who contributed thousands of man hours to complete this project.”
