Acorn Mini Storage to Convert Former Furniture Store to Self-Storage in Roseville, MN

Acorn Mini Storage, a Minnesota-based self-storage operator, has acquired a former HOM Furniture store in Roseville, Minn., for $4.55 million. Acorn intends to convert the 85,476-square-foot building into 500 storage units, with the first 236 units expected to be available this year, according to the source.

The property was acquired from an affiliate of Schafer Richardson, a Minneapolis-based construction, development, investment and property-management company. HOM Furniture vacated the property last year when it relocated the store to Little Canada, Minn., the source reported.

Headquartered in New Hope, Minn., Acorn currently operates 10 self-storage facilities in the Minneapolis metropolitan market. The company’s facilities offer 24-hour gated access, security features and truck rentals. Five of its locations also offer outdoor spots for boat, RV and vehicle storage.
