The Caster Group, which operates 48 A-1 Self Storage locations in California, is building a new 96,236-square-foot facility in the Imperial Beach community of San Diego. The property at 845 Hollister St. is scheduled to open in December.
The storage facility will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Customers will also be able to reserve units via the company’s online platform.
"The Caster Group looks forward to opening our newest A-1 Self Storage location in Imperial Beach, making it our 19th store in the San Diego market,” said Brian Caster, CEO and president. "Given its prime location off Palm Avenue, this property possesses great potential.”
Construction is underway on another A-1 facility in the Pacific Beach community of San Diego. Slated to open in November, the site will also include a Sonic Drive-In fast-food restaurant on a portion of the property.
The Caster Group is seeking to purchase raw land, existing self-storage facilities, in-fill projects and properties that are entitled but not yet built in California and Texas, according to a company press release. The third-generation, family-owned company has been headquartered in Southern California since 1959. It develops and manages A-1 Self Storage, A-1 Car Storage and other commercial properties in California. Its portfolio includes more than 5 million square feet of real estate.
