Amy's Attic Self Storage of Texas Hosts Community Holiday-Card Program

Amy’s Attic Self Storage, which operates five Texas locations, is inviting community members to create holiday cards that’ll be donated to people living in assisted-living and retirement homes as well as first responders. Once collected, the cards will be hand-delivered by company employees, according to the source.

Amy’s Attic hosts the card program during the December holidays and in February for Valentine’s Day. It invites local elementary schools and organizations that offer after-school programs to participate, providing paper, stickers and glue upon request. Store-bought cards are also accepted. In addition, a decorating station is available at the Harker Heights facility at 800 Prospector Trail. The cards will be collected through Dec. 9.

“The joy of watching our senior citizen population and first responders react when we distribute the cards cannot be easily captured in words,” said program coordinator Lisa Sherwood, who manages the Harker Heights location. “This means so much to the recipients who may be working throughout the holidays or are a resident of a retired community and are unable to celebrate with family and loved ones.”

Founded in 2004, Amy’s Attic operates facilities in Belton, Harker Heights, Salado, Temple and Waco, Texas.
