Mixed-Use Self-Storage, Office Project Gets Approval in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada

A mixed use self-storage and office project received approval last week from the city council in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. Squamish Self Storage at 39480 Queens Way, near a 20-acre master-planned area known as Sea to Sky Business Park, will include two buildings to be constructed in two phases. Though the property will mainly comprise storage space, it also include 15,690 square feet of office space spread over two floors, according to the source. It will also a feature a rain garden.

The June 6 council approval included several variances. For example, the off-street parking requirements were reduced from 147 to 17 for the storage facility.

The application for the mixed-use property predates amendments made last month to the zoning bylaws, which limit self-storage to existing locations, the source reported.
