Safeguard Self Storage, which operates 90 facilities in seven states, received a “2024 New Construction Award” in the industrial category from the Queens, New York, Chamber of Commerce, for its facility in the borough. The recognition highlights quality and innovation in design and construction, according to a press release.
The multi-story building at 130-02 S. Conduit Ave. comprises 117,000 rentable square feet in 1,223 climate-controlled units. Safeguard acquired the facility in August 2023 at Certificate of Occupancy. It was developed by Triangle Equities.
“I truly enjoyed collaborating with Triangle Equities on this project. They delivered a property of outstanding quality in a prime location with excellent visibility along the Belt Parkway, perfectly aligning with our commitment to service and quality,” said Stan Bonilla, senior vice president of development for Safeguard.
The self-storage operator and other award winners will be honored during the 2024 Building Awards Gala on Thursday at The TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport. This year is the gala's 98th anniversary of honoring the architects, builders, engineers, lenders, interior designers and owners who contribute to the architectural and economic vitality of the borough, the release stated.
“Queens continues to grow and thrive, thanks to the incredible work of the real estate, architecture and construction communities. The 2024 Building Awards Gala will honor these talented professionals who are shaping the future of Queens,” said Tom Grech, president and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce.
