Article-Self Storage Association of Australasia Announces Award Winners

The Self Storage Association of Australasia (SSAA) announced the winners of its annual awards at its recent convention, Nov. 9-11, at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The SSAA Awards for Excellence Gala Evening was presented by Visy Boxes & More.

A partial list of winners has been released. The revealed recipients are:

  • Facility of the Year: Rent-A-Space Self Storage, Marsden Park, New South Wales
  • 2022 Service Member of the Year: R6 Digital
  • Innovation of the Year: R6 Digital
  • Service Award: Ivor Morgan, general manager at Jim’s Self Storage and SSAA Board Member

“Winning these awards validates the hard work that our Brisbane-based business has done to deliver world-class service and a ‘best in business’ self-storage application, one that small and large operators can use globally,” said Dallas Dogger, chairman of R6 Digital, which offers industry marketing and technology. R6 has received the Service Member of the Year award five times since 2007.

More than 300 self-storage professionals attended the SSAA convention, which was postponed for two years due to the pandemic. In addition to education and a tradeshow, the event included vendor presentations and several social activities including a golf tournament, afternoon tea and facility tour.

The SSAA provides education, advocacy and support to self-storage professionals in Australia and New Zealand.
