The Arizona Self-Storage Association (AZSSA) elected new officers for 2021 and announced changes to its board of directors. It also named an interim executive director. The new executive committee is:

  • President: Diane Gibson, Cox Armored Mini Storage Management
  • Vice president: Jeff Gorden, Eagle Commercial Realty Services
  • Treasurer: Martin Lorch, BPI Capital Management
  • Secretary: Anne Mari DeCoster, Storelocal

“Heading this association for the next few years is certainly an honor that comes with great responsibility. AZSA is and has been known as one of the elite state associations, so it's important for me and the current board of directors to keep that going,” Gibson said. “We are continuing to push ourselves to find ways to connect with our members during this challenging time to ensure our message is still getting out and we continue to help those in need of our assistance.”

New board members are DeCoster and Alonna Ross, business development manager for StorageAuctions.com. Returning board members are:

  • Bill Alter, Rein & Grossoehme Commercial Real Estate
  • James Appleton, MiniCo Insurance Agency LLC
  • Poppy Behrens, Mini-Storage Messenger
  • David Brown, Wentworth Property Co.
  • Matthew Hall, Stadium Properties LLC
  • Korey Hanson, Professional Self Storage Management
  • Whitney Jurjevich, Ameripark RV & Boat Storage
  • Andrew Kelly, Sierra Self Storage Consulting LLC

  • Belinda Rosthenhausler, CDC Small Business Finance
  • Chris Rudel, The Rudel Co.

The new leadership also includes Amy Amideo as interim executive director. Most recently, she worked in the business-finance industry. “I have been entrusted with such an amazing legacy and will work diligently to maintain the high-quality standards and innovative ideas that AZSA has come to represent,” Amideo said. “I’m honored to be part of such a wonderful industry. The members have been so welcoming. The work we will do on legislative issues affecting the industry will be indicative of the collaboration within the group.”

Founded in 1996, AZSSA comprises more than 600 member facilities owned by approximately 300 owner/operators and more than 100 vendor members. Services include a legislative watch and legal resources, communications, an online facility and vendor search, education events and networking, and an annual conference and tradeshow.
