Summer Heat Makes Sales Sizzle for Devon Self Storage

Emeryville, Calif.-based Devon Self Storage reported an increase in its climate-control and RV/boat storage sales, citing higher than normal summer temperatures as the driving force. The company says owners of expensive recreational vehicles seek to protect their investments from heat as well as sun by choosing ancillary storage solutions.

In addition, Devon has redesigned its website to accommodate the recent growth. Customers can now check for availability and reserve storage units online. The site's new features aim to attract new demographics while providing a more customer-friendly atmosphere.

Devon Self Storage was founded in 1989 and maintains 29 storage locations in the United States and the Netherlands. The company's development strategy is to convert well-located, "big box," multistory retail stores and warehouses into self-storage. This approach has helped the company grow into a business worth more than $250 million.

In addition to its Emeryville headquarters, the company has a central office in Amsterdam. Call 510.450.1300 or visit www.devonselfstorage.com for more info.
