Coupons Run Out for Digital TV Converter

The switch to all-digital television from analog Feb. 17 could leave thousands without programming. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) offered coupons for a box that would help those without cable or satellite maintain access to free television programming, including emergency announcements. However, funding for the program has run out.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) offered coupons for a box that would help those without cable or satellite maintain access to free television programming, including emergency announcements. However, funding for the program has run out. 

The NTIA has already reached the limit of $1.34 billion allocated for coupons.
