Point Acquisitions Acquires Potential Record-Setting Self-Storage Facility in Texas

Commercial real estate investment company Point Acquisitions LLC has acquired Forward Storage in San Antonio, one of the largest self-storage facilities in the nation, according to a press release. The 65-acre property at 18975 Marbach Lane comprises more than 362,000 square feet in 700 units, with 20 acres available for expansion.

“According to Costar [a real estate analytics, information and marketing-services firm], this deal is a top-30 site on a square-footage basis,” company officials said in the release. “With 20 acres of expansion in the works, it will make it the largest self-storage site in the entire country. We are pleased with the growth of our burgeoning direct-to-seller platform to take down a deal of this size and complexity in a super competitive market of self-storage properties, and in the state of Texas.”

Point uses a proprietary platform to streamline the sale of properties in off-market deals. The tool is designed to reduce contingencies and fees associated with broker deals as well as offer faster turnarounds and more privacy, the release stated. This is the first self-storage transaction completed through the platform. Other categories have included apartments, commercial buildings, hotels, industrial properties and land.

The company acquires commercial real estate across the United States. With offices in Philadelphia and St. Petersburg, Florida, it’s led by President Jesse Shemesh, who oversees all acquisitions and business development.
