Suppliers provide roofs, corridors, roll-up doors, mezzanines, lifts, elevators, relocatable buildings, and more. Important aspects of self-storage building include site layout, design and unit mix. Trends in self-storage construction include conversions, multi-story building, climate control and ‘green’ building, which can involve LEED certification and sustainable options such as solar panels. Specialty niches include boat/RV storage, wine storage and storage condos.
