Self-Storage Marketplace SpareFoot Releases 2015 'Choose Your Own Adventure' Calendar

SpareFoot, an online marketplace for self-storage consumers, has released “2015: Choose Your Own Adventure,” a calendar featuring company employees acting out scenes requested by its self-storage clients. SpareFoot asked facility operators what they wanted to see happen inside a storage unit. Each calendar page reveals a client suggestion brought to life, such as a roller-derby bout or a cowboy bubble bath, and includes the operator’s name, facility name and location. Each page also provides a marketing tip from SpareFoot staff.

The calendar cover features actor Hafþór “Thor” Björnsson, known for his role as Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane on the HBO series “Game of Thrones.” Björnsson recently supported Team SpareFoot during the Jan. 24 Austin Startup Games, in which the company raised $20,000 for Kure It Cancer Research by claiming the overall gold medal.

All of the calendar images were captured inside a unit at Secured Climate Storage and Postal Center in Austin, Texas. The calendar is free to SpareFoot clients.

Previous calendar themes were “2014: A Storage Odyssey,” which featured SpareFoot employees re-enacting iconic scenes from classic movies; and “2013: Bust A Move-In,” a pin-up style calendar displaying staff in humorous and suggestive poses inside storage units.

Founded in 2008, SpareFoot.com helps consumers find and reserve self-storage units, with comparison shopping tools that show real-time availability and exclusive deals. Since its launch, the company has raised $26 million in venture capital. With a network of more than 7,000 storage facilities ranging from mom-and-pop operations to real estate investment trusts, the company reaches prospective storage renters though partnerships with brands including SelfStorage.com and Penske Truck Rental.
