Facility Spotlight: Eliminator Boat & RV Storage, Perris, Calif.

Perris, Calif., is known for its long, hot and dry summers. For respite, residents think there’s really nothing better than a day at Lake Perris State Recreation Area, where 125,000 square feet of pristine fresh water thrills thousands of swimmers and avid fisherman each year. Still, it’s the boaters who probably relish the lake more than anyone. With the opening of Eliminator Boat & RV Storage, they can take their love of boating to a whole new level, resting assured their vehicles receive plenty of professional care out of the water.

All in the Name

Eliminator Boats have earned a reputation for meeting the highest standards for performance, design and product excellence within the boating community. It’s likely the newly opened storage facility, which is an appendage of a 100,000-square-foot showroom and manufacturing plant, will rise to a similar fame in the boat- and RV-storage realm.

Knowing the storage facility needed to appeal to the upper-echelon of boaters, construction was a key concern. Owner Jim Guthrie turned to Pascal Steel Corp., a family owned business with more than six decades of combined knowledge and experience in the steel industry. Pascal is a factory-direct wholesaler of pre-engineered steel buildings and various other steel structures.

To fit the tall order and enormous dimensions of this huge project, three storage buildings were constructed of concrete tilt-up panels, steel columns, and 22-gauge partitions and roof, according to Beau DePascale, vice president of Pascal Steel and project manager at the Eliminator site. “We used over one million pounds of steel for the roof,” he explains. “And we brought in over 38 truck loads of steel.”

It would have been an overwhelming job for an inexperienced builder, but the Pascal system—using pre-engineered metal buildings—cuts time and expenses, streamlining the process and allowing the facility to celebrate its grand opening in grand style, on time and on budget. “The building process is so cut-and-dried for us,” adds DePascale. “It’s a simple formula, but it works well for us and, moreover, for our customers.”

Now open to the public, Eliminator Boat & RV Storage boasts 476 units in three sizes and rental rates: the 14-by-40-foot units are $395 a month; 14-by-50-foot units rent for $495 a month; and the 14-foot-by-90-foot units go for $890 month. All spaces are fully enclosed and completely covered, assuring boats and RVs are protected from the elements.

With more than a dozen special features and services to offer customers—from top-of-the-line security, onsite repair services, cleaning, waxing, polishing, and delivery to homes or the local lake—Eliminator Boat & RV Storage lives up to its legendary name, a name boaters have come to trust.
