Janus International Group LLC, a manufacturer of self-storage roll-up doors and building components, has launched the SecurGuard product line, which includes locking solutions for self-storage doors. The new products specifically integrate with access-control systems from Phoenix-based PTI Security Systems.
The first products in the line include the SecurGuard Electronic Lock/Overlock/Monitor and the SecurGuard Wiring Harness, both of which will be released this fall. The electronic lock, which has been patented in the United States and is patent-pending in international markets, provides a secure interior (inside the door) lock as well as an automated overlock and continuously monitored security and access control to individual self-storage units, according to a press release. The lock will work in conjunction with online, call-center and kiosk rentals, offering storage operators the ability to run an unmanned facility, the release stated.
"We know doors and how to best lock and secure them. The products being released this fall are the direct result of our expertise and innovation combined with our integration and partnership with PTI Security Systems,” said Terry Bagley, vice president of business development for Janus.
Janus and PTI will highlight the SecurGuard product line at their booths, Nos. 624 and 638, respectively, at the Self Storage Association Fall Conference and Tradeshow in Las Vegas, Sept. 8-11. The premier will be followed by international launches at the Federation of European Self Storage Association Conference, Oct. 6-7, in Amsterdam; the Inside Self-Storage World Expo Canada, Nov. 4-5, in Calgary, Canada; the Latin America Self Storage Tradeshow and Education, Nov. 9-10, in São Paulo, Brazil; and the Canadian Self Storage Association Conference and Tradeshow, Nov. 11-12, in Toronto.
"We are excited about Janus International's launch of the SecurGuard product line and initial products. We have worked closely with Janus to create a holistic solution that provides the best in access control and security for the self-storage facility,” said Jon Loftin, vice president of PTI Security Systems.
Janus and PTI signed a joint marketing and support agreement earlier this month to integrate and promote their door-locking solutions on an international level.
Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., PTI has a sales office in Asheville, N.C., and international partners in Asia, Australia, Europe and New Zealand. It has installed more than 25,000 security systems in more than 30 countries.
Headquartered in Temple, Ga., Janus has six U.S. locations as well as manufacturing facilities in Europe, Mexico and South Africa. A plant in Brazil is expected to open later this year. The company is owned by Saw Mill Capital Partners LP, a New York-based private equity investment fund managed by Saw Mill Capital LLC.
