Lonestar Development Plans Mixed-Use Project Containing Self-Storage for Brighton, CO

The Brighton, Colo., City Council has approved the first reading of a zoning plan that would allow a mixed-use project containing self-storage at S. 50th Avenue and E. Bridge Street. Texas-based Lonestar Development Partners recently acquired 4 acres of a 7-acre parcel at the site. Brighton Commons would also contain restaurants and retail, according to the source.

The storage facility would be developed on the south half of the property, near the Bromley Park neighborhood. The restaurant and retail components are earmarked for the northern portion. The council is favorable toward commercial and residential zoning, including on the area planned for self-storage, the source reported.

The property is on the east side of Brighton near an area where child-care and medical facilities are also planned. “The projects coming in will provide dining options, service-related businesses and emergency healthcare, all of which we have been waiting for,” councilmember Joan Kniss during a recent meeting.

The mixed-use project would include fencing and landscaping to serve as a buffer between the commercial site and existing residences. Plans also include the construction of sidewalks, according to the source.

Based in Austin, Texas, Lonestar Development specializes in mixed-use, multi-family and townhome projects. It’s also designed a variety of other projects including government, high-rise, modular and mixed-income developments, according to its website.
