Lighthouse Self Storage, which operates 17 locations in California and Florida, opened a new facility last month in Carson City, Calif. Converted from an industrial space, the property at 21640 S. Wilmington Ave. contains 695 storage units and 30 vehicle-storage spaces.

Hard Hat Inc. was the general contractor on the project. The site will be managed by Progressive Realty Partners, which oversees all Lighthouse facilities.

To celebrate the opening, the company will host a community event, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sept. 13. Local eatery The Habit Burger Grill will provide refreshments for the first 150 guests. Attendees will also have a chance to win prizes while supplies last, according to a press release.

Lighthouse has developed and managed more than 100 storage properties across the United States. Its current portfolio includes more than 1.4 million square feet of storage space in 10,000 units. It operates facilities under the Lighthouse and Storage Outlet brand names in the Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties of California as well as in Fort Lauderdale, Homestead and Miami, Fla.
