Property-Management Firm Garber Enterprises Proposes Self-Storage for Lawrence, KS

Property-management company Garber Enterprises Inc. intends to develop a self-storage facility on 11.36 acres in the 1700 block of E. 902 Road in Lawrence, Kan. The Douglas County Commission last week unanimously approved a conditional-use permit, following the previous approval by the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission, according to the source.

The parcel, just northwest of Rock Chalk Park, abuts Kansas Highway 10. It is just outside the Lawrence boundary but is expected to be annexed by the city, the source reported. County planners reviewed the application to see if the project conformed with Lawrence development standards, according to Mary Miller, a planner with the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Department.

Though commissioner Nancy Thellman expressed some concern about the project, she said it satisfied the required screening and would fit in aesthetically with the neighborhood, according to the source.

Based in Lawrence, Garber Enterprises specializes in the management of “luxury townhouse communities” and single-family homes,” according to its website.
