Wheat Capital Management, a private equity real estate firm, has filed an application on behalf of Britom LLC to build a self-storage facility in Margate, Fla. The Broward County Commission will consider the project at its Tuesday meeting, according to the source.

The 2.63-acre site is on the southeast corner of North State Road 7 and Northwest 31st Street, behind a Walgreens at 3000 N. State Road 7. If approved, the facility would comprise 130,000 square feet of storage space, the source reported.

Attorney Hope Calhoun, a partner for the land-use and zoning-practice group at Dunay Miskel Backman LLP, represented the developer in the application.

Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Wheat Capital specializes in the acquisition and development of self-storage infill projects. It also acquires distressed and underperforming real estate properties.

Britom LLC is managed by Brian N. Fettner of Boca Raton, Fla., and Thomas P. Miko of Boynton Beach, Fla., the source reported.
