Armadillo Self Storage of Sheffield, England, a member of the Big Yellow Group PLC family of storage properties, was recently honored with a “Corporate Partner Award” by Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) during the organization’s annual recognition dinner. For two years, the facility has provided YAA with free storage, which the charity uses for its fundraising equipment, including banners, gazebos and merchandise.

The partnership was initiated by Ed Taylor, the facility’s former manager, and a YAA event volunteer. Ben Wolf, the current store manager, and the Armadillo team have continued to work with the charity to provide ongoing support, according to an Armadillo blog.

The awards dinner acknowledges the efforts of the charity’s corporate sponsors, fundraisers, media and volunteers who help raise awareness and funds. YAA serves five million people across Yorkshire and carries out more than 1,250 missions every year. It needs to raise £12,000 every day to keep its aircrafts flying, and relies on the generosity of individuals and organizations across the local region, the blog stated.

Armadillo Self Storage has 10 locations. Big Yellow operates 84 locations in the United Kingdom under the Big Yellow Self Storage and Armadillo Self Storage brand names, with most concentrated in Greater London. Its total portfolio comprises 5.1 million square feet.
