Uncle Bob’s Self Storage, the operating brand for real estate investment trust Sovran Self Storage Inc., recently partnered with Houston Texans football star and SNPGD (SnapGod) co-founder Jaelen Strong to host the third annual Legends of Tomorrow Youth Football Camp, June 25, in Philadelphia. Designed for aspiring football players ages 7 to 17, the camp was held 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Drexel University’s Vidas Athletic Complex Maguire Field, which also serves as the practice venue for Strong’s high-school alma mater, West Catholic Preparatory High School. More than 300 kids learned the fundamentals of the sport during the training session, which featured several National Football League (NFL) professionals as guest coaches.

“Philadelphia is my home. There is nothing more rewarding than helping to mold the lives and football skills of the next generation of NFL talent,” said Strong, who plays as wide receiver. “Thanks very much to Uncle Bob’s Self Storage for teaming up with me to create this one-of-a-kind opportunity.”

Strong launched the camp in 2014 to foster the development of youth football in Philadelphia. It focuses on physical conditioning with basic drills, position-specific training and an obstacle course. In addition to free admission, participants receive limited-edition gear and other giveaways.

Strong attended Los Angeles Pierce College for two years, and then transferred to Arizona State University. He was drafted into the NFL in 2015.

Strong launched SNPGD with co-founder and Philly native Shawn Wilson as a movement to motivate young people to live a life rooted in determination, hard work, honesty and loyalty, according to its website. In addition to the camp, SNPGD operates SNPGD TV, which includes sports-related videos, and an online store that sells branded merchandise.

Based in Buffalo, N.Y., Sovran operates more than 550 facilities in 26 states. Its portfolio of owned and managed facilities comprises more than 38.5 million square feet.
