A former warehouse and manufacturing plant has been converted and opened as a self-storage facility in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Mechanicsburg Self Storage, at 5267 Simpson Ferry Road, encompasses 40,274 feet of rentable storage space in 325 units and includes vehicle parking. Property features include controlled access, a retail center offering moving and packing supplies, and video cameras. Customers can rent units and pay their rent online.  

The nearly 7-acre property has served a number of purposes over the years, having been an auction house, a car dealership and a showroom for Bargaintory.com, which sold overstock and wholesale products to the public.

Mechanicsburg Self Storage is owned by a local family but will be managed by Storage Asset Management Inc., a property-management and consulting firm founded in 2010 and based in York, Pa. The company oversees self-storage facilities as well
