Managers of Compass Self Storage in Oxford, FL, Display Elaborate Holiday Village

The managers of a Compass Self Storage in Oxford, Fla., have put an elaborate miniature holiday village on display in the facility’s office. Built by Fred and Lorraine Liebenau, the village includes 82 houses and stretches 20 feet long and 4 feet wide.

The Liebenaus began their collection in 1989 while managing a hotel in Denver. Lorraine Liebenau purchased a model of the yellow “Honeymoon Motel” at a Hallmark store, according to the source. Lorraine, who was born in December, began receiving Christmas house models as birthday gifts. The couple also collected items while traveling. Calling the display, a “labor of love,” Lorraine told the source some senior residents arrive in busloads to view it.

The village will be on display at the property at 4477 E. County Road 466 through January during office hours, Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. While there’s no charge to view the display, a donation box is available. All donations will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, an organization in which Compass Self Storage frequently partners, the source reported.
