“As a born and raised Houstonian, I can't think of a better neighborhood to grow into than Montrose. I am a supporter of its museums, my wife loves the vintage boutiques, and we regularly enjoy its incredible restaurants," said owner Bobby Grover. "We spend our time in Montrose, so it seemed to be a natural fit to open a Big Tex Storage on Richmond Avenue.”

Plans are underway to develop a third Big Tex facility at Ella and West 34th Street in Houston. Construction will begin in early 2018, according to the release.

12/9/15 – Big Tex Self Storage has broken ground on a new facility in Montrose, Texas. Slated to open in August, the property at 1810 Richmond Ave. will comprise 100,000 square feet of storage space. It will offer climate-controlled storage units in a range of sizes as well as wine storage for private collectors and restaurateurs in the area.

Security features will include gated access control, individually alarmed doors and more than 40 video cameras. Consistent with other Big Tex locations, the Montrose facility will offer customers free truck rental and the use of dollies and platform trucks. It will also sell moving and packing supplies.

Big Tex opened its second location last spring in the River Oaks area of Houston. Owner Bobby Grover built it shortly after buying a home in community.

Big Tex Self Storage is family-owned and -operated. In addition to self-storage, the company offers boat/RV storage and mini-office warehouse units.
