Public Storage Affiliate to Build Self-Storage Facility and Distillery in Deerfield Beach, FL

Stor-All 2nd Ave. LLC, an affiliate of real estate investment trust Public Storage Inc., is looking to build a self-storage facility and a distillery in a separate building in Deerfield Beach, Fla. The Deerfield Beach Planning and Zoning Board was expected to consider the application at its Nov. 5 meeting, according to the source. The developer was represented by planning firm HSQ Group.

Stor-All purchased the property at 77 S.E. 2nd Ave. near the southeast corner of Dixie Highway and Hillsboro Boulevard for $2.55 million last May. Plans for the 5-acre site include demolishing the former Deerfield Builder’s Supply building and constructing a 158,000-square-foot self-storage facility, a 6,000-square-foot office complex and an 8,744-square-foot distillery named Old Everglades Distillery. A corporation under the distillery’s name was founded in 2013, the source reported. It’s managed by Joseph T. Anzalone and Robert J. Edwards Jr., of Boca Raton, Fla.

Based in Glendale, Calif., Public Storage has interests in 2,266 self-storage facilities in 38 states, with approximately 147 million net rentable square feet. Operating under the Shurgard brand name, the company also has 217 facilities in seven European countries, with approximately 11 million net rentable square feet.
