Forest Gate Self-Storage to Open in November in Brevard, NC

Forest Gate Self-Storage in Brevard, N.C., is finalizing its first phase of construction and is scheduled to open during the first half of November. The property at 196 Ecusta Road is in the Pisgah Forest area, an unincorporated community in Transylvania County.

The building will feature 130 climate-controlled storage units. The exterior finish will be color-coordinated brick, stone and stucco, according to Trent Hardin, co-owner and manager. Security features will include individual unit alarms, 16 surveillance cameras, more than 90 interior motion-censored lights, and a fire-suppression system with more than 50 individual zones.

“There is nothing like this modern, quality facility in Brevard, and we see a strong demand here and in the surrounding area,” Hardin told the source. “The tremendous reception by our citizens has already resulted in several reservations."

The property will have a covered drive-under canopy at the entrance to protect customers and their belongings from the weather during loading and unloading, according to the source. The office will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. six days a week and offer moving and packing supplies. Facility access hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Construction of the second phase, which will add another 140 units, will depend on the facility’s lease-up, Hardin said.
