Stiegel Valley Self Storage of Manheim, PA, Converts Barns to Storage Units

When Stiegel Valley Self Storage owners Kristen and Kyle Haldeman began repurposing the barns on the 100-year-old farm they purchased in Manheim, Pa., their original plan was to expand Kyle’s plumbing business. They ultimately decided to create 37 storage units at the business at 698 Stiegel Valley Road. They also added U-Haul truck and cargo-van rentals.

The 10-acre property previously housed livestock, stored feed and manufactured dairy, according to a press release. Since opening the storage business two years ago, the Haldemans have enjoyed the community aspects of the storage business.

"It's a small community and my husband grew up here," Kristen said. "Everyone knows him, so we see lots of familiar faces. But when people leave one week, another person fills the unit up the next week, and then we get to meet new people as well."
