U-Haul Buys Apache Self Storage in Tempe, AZ

U-Haul Co. of Metro Phoenix and the East Valley has acquired the former Apache Self Storage facility in Tempe, Ariz., and rebranded it as U-Haul Storage of Tri-City. The property at 1905 E. Apache Blvd. is being renovated and will be remotely operated by U-Haul of Tri-City, 2340 E. Apache Blvd., also in Tempe.

The facility includes 15 single-story storage buildings, a rental office and a manager’s apartment on 2.48 acres. It encompasses 40,100 square feet of net rentable storage space in 360 units. Property amenities include extended access hours, truck and van rentals, and mailbox rentals.

The acquisition of Apache Self Storage was driven by U-Haul’s corporate sustainability initiatives, which support infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint, according to a company press release. U-Haul’s adaptive reuse of buildings eliminates the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps local cities diminish their unwanted inventory of unused buildings, U-Haul officials said.

Established in 1945, U-Haul International Inc. has more than 40 million square feet of storage space at more than 1,000 owned and managed facilities throughout North America.
