Earth-Kind Inc., a supplier of pest-prevention products, has introduced Stay Away, a natural pest-prevention line made solely of essential oils and American-grown plant fibers, for self-storage and other industries. The patented pouch design delivers a slow release of scent to keep pests away from treated areas for up to three months, according to a company press release. The products are effective against ants, moths, rodents and spiders.

“It never made sense to me to stomp on a spider, blow up an ant hill or kill a mouse simply because they were near my personal space,” said Kari Warberg Block, founder and CEO. “As the daughter of an entomologist and a mom, I envisioned a better way to keep pests away from the spaces where we live, work and play, and be sustainable while doing it. This natural preventive solution, the first of its kind, is one that is not just proactive but highly effective."

Because Stay Away pouches contain no toxic chemicals, they repel pests rather than kill them and can be thrown right in the trash once used. The ingredients have been identified as safe for humans, pets and the environment by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, according to the release.
