Self-Storage Door Manufacturer DBCI Hires New National Sales Manager, Names General Manager

Update 12/18/2013 – In his new position as DBCI’s general manager, Hughes will focus on the company’s long-term vision and strategic market position. Hughes has been instrumental in DBCI’s growth and profitability, according to a press release. He began his 13-year career in the overhead-door industry with DBCI as a district sales manager and has served as a sales manager for the past seven years. His excellent leadership, sales and customer-service skills will serve him well in his new position, company officials said.

In the new role, Hughes will continue to work with sales and with marketing, operations, and research and development. The promotion aligns with DBCI’s forward-moving objectives to increase profitable sales, improve service and further develop sales team capabilities, according to the release. 

A native of Douglasville, Ga., Hughes is an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and watching Florida State Seminoles football.

Smith will service key accounts, develop new markets and establish strategic partnerships throughout the United States. He will also support the company's outside sales efforts to commercial and self-storage customers.

Smith is a graduate of Carl Sandberg College in Galesburg, Ill., and has more than 23 years of experience in overhead-door sales and management. He lives in Murfreesboro, Tenn., with his wife, Arlene. They have four children and four grandchildren.

Former national sales manager Roc Hughes has been promoted to general manager.  He will assume responsibilities for the position immediately, focusing on the company’s long-term vision and strategic market position.

DBCI designs and manufactures commercial-grade, steel roll-up doors as well as frames and panels, wall systems, interior-hallway systems, mezzanine systems, portable-storage units, and wine lockers. Headquartered in Douglasville, Ga., the company also operates production facilities in Chandler, Ariz., and Houston, and manages distributor relationships in Knoxville, Tenn., and San Leandro, Calif.
