Compass Self Storage LLC, a member of the Amsdell family of companies, has acquired a self-storage facility in New Port Richey, Fla., the company’s third in the greater Tampa Bay area. The storage center at 4413 Madison St. encompasses more than 65,000 net rentable square feet. It offers drive-up access, climate-controlled units, outdoor storage and parking, and a retail office with moving supplies.
Compass has acquired several facilities this year, including one in Philadelphia, and entered the Chicago self-storage market with the purchase of Great American Storage Solutions in Lansing, Ill. Company growth is projected to continue with the acquisition of self-storage properties in select markets, according to a press release.
"We are excited to service our new self-storage customers in New Port Richey and to become an active part of the local business community," said Todd Amsdell, president.
The acquisition was made by separate affiliates of Amsdell Group LLC and Compass Self Storage LLC.
Headquartered in Cleveland, the Amsdell Cos. draws its roots from the family-owned construction company founded in 1928. The company, which owns and operates self-storage properties in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, has since been active in several billions of dollars worth of real estate ventures with a primary focus in self-storage.
