Mouth-Shaped Urinal Discovered on ‘Storage Wars’ Causes Controversy

A recent self-storage auction discovery made during a taping of the A&E reality TV show “Storage Wars” caused a bit of controversy between husband and wife team Jarrod Schulz and Brandi Passante and is reminiscent of a similar hullabaloo cause by an Australian restaurant last year. Schulz and Passante were combing through a storage unit they won at auction when they discovered a urinal in the shape of a woman’s mouth. Shulz was excited by the find while Passante was disgusted, according to the source.

The bright red urinal is similar to ones designed by Dutch artist Meike van Schijndel. Ananas Bar and Brasserie, a French restaurant in Sydney, featured urinals by the designer in one of its bathrooms until backlash from a feminist group in 2012 led to their removal. The group accused the restaurant of perpetuating misogyny with the pieces, according to the source.

An expert quoted in a “Huffington Post” article said the right buyer could net up $5,000 for the urinal.

Schulz and Passante own Now and Then Secondhand Store in Orange, Calif. They have been part of the cast of “Storage Wars” since the show launched in 2010.
