The Storage Business Owners Alliance LLC (SBOA), a buying group for the U.S. self-storage industry, and GMAC Insurance, a nationwide property and casualty insurance company, have partnered to provide RV-insurance discounts to customers who store their RVs at self-storage facilities.

GMAC now offers tenants of SBOA member self-storage facilities a storage option, which allows them to suspend their liability and collision coverage while their RV is in storage. By doing this, they can save up to 53 percent on RV insurance, according to an SBOA press release.

GMAC Insurance offers many coverage options to better insure the RVs of self-storage tenants, including personal-belongings coverage, emergency-expense allowance, permanent attachments coverage and optional full-replacement-cost coverage. There are also special coverage options for RV full-timers and discounts for multiple vehicles and policies.
