Storage Village Self Storage Partners With Maryland Charity

Storage Village Self Storage has established a partnership with Severna Park Assistance Network (SPAN), a Maryland-based nonprofit that provides food and financial help to Severna Park community members in need of emergency assistance.

Storage Village will support SPANs efforts through donations of food, money and volunteering. With each new move-in, tenants can get their first month rent for $1 if they bring in at least three cans of food to Storage Villages onsite Canned Food Collection Center. All food collected at the companys facility in Millersville, Md., will be donated to SPAN. Last year, Storage Village donated more than 2,000 pounds of food through the program.

The company also donates Thanksgiving dinners to SPAN and sells $1 water bottles throughout the year, donating all proceeds to the charity. In addition, full-time employees at Storage Village are paid to donate at least eight hours of volunteer time each month. Although they may volunteer at any organization, Storage Village recommends SPAN to its staff.

We are thrilled to be able to help Severna Park Assistance Network serve people in the Severna Park community who dont have the means to take care of some of their most basic needs, said Michael Goldberg, chief operating officer of Storage Village.

Storage Village has five locations, including four in Maryland and one in Virginia.
