"Being an active member of our community is one of the core values of the company," said Hugh Knowles, co-owner. Fort Box is partnering with Merrill Corp., a commercial technology and legal-services provider also based in the United Kingdom, on the sponsorship.

Fort Box was founded in 2007 and opened its first self-storage facility in Oxford in 2008 before adding a Central London facility in 2010. Fort Box is the trading name of USIFB LP and is owned by Knowles, Ian Connolly and CubeSmart, a U.S.-based self-storage operator formerly known as U-Store-It Trust Inc.
